I receive many inquiries about headshots, fashion photography and other portraits from people in Los Angeles and Orange County (and occasionally in San Francisco)… and one of the common requests I get is to see an actual portfolio of images instead of just the photos that I have spread out between this blog, flickr and The Bui Brothers blog. I decided to consolidate a small amount of photographs here where I can direct people to view some of my work relevant specifically to fashion photography. Below these you can also see information about planning for your shoot and what to expect.
Veronica Belmont has been one of my favorite subjects of all time. She’s a wonderful person and a fantastic model… and the “fashion shoot” Lan and I did with her in December in the basement of the House of Shields Bar in San Francisco still blows me away.

Bonny Pierzina is another favorite subject of mine. She is my sister-in-law and is always up for a great phot session. Here are some of my favorite fashion photography shots of her:

Here are a few more photographs from other wonderful new media personalities I’ve worked with (Zadi Diaz, Brigitte Dale, Neha Tiwari, Anastasia Tubanos):

And finally here are the only photos I’ll share here of a dude… these were shot of personal trainer Eddie Grey for his brochure. One while he was working on being cut and one while he was bulking up (6 months later). These aren’t really considered fashion photography OR headshots… more like promotional images:

Booking a fashion photography session:
Email vu@vubui.com or call 949-735-5781 to book a session. Payment can be made via cash, check or Paypal (to vu@vubui.com). Typically you will need to book at least a week in advance however sometimes I am booked out for 2-4 weeks.
Fashion photography sessions start at $600 in Los Angeles and Orange County and go from there depending on what you are looking for and where we shoot. Makeup is typically $150 for a standard session.
The day of your photo session:
My fashion photography sessions are usually held outdoors and take around 3 hours to shoot (plus makeup and wardrobe preparation). I can provide a makeup artist and/or hair stylist or you can do your own makeup… depending on the type of shoot we are planning it is usually best to have someone else take care of it but if you are comfortable taking care of your own that works just fine.
Wardrobe should be selected ahead of time… but if you are having trouble my stylist or I can help you decide. It helps a lot to have a variety of outfits laid out in a advance, but we can go through your closet if we need to in order to make sure you have the best outfits for the type of shoot we are doing. We can also meet you beforehand for a thrift store shopping session which can provide some amazing looks.
Make sure to sleep well the night before your shoot and drink plenty of water. People don’t always realize how much a few hours in front of the camera will take out of you and you’ll want to have energy and look your best the whole time.
